Guerilla Games' has announced that the next Killzone 2 DLC pack, "Napalm & Cordite," will be available to download tomorrow on the PlayStation network. The pack includes two maps, predictably dubbed Napalm and Cordite, themed around fire and ice, respectively. Two new multiplayer weapons will also be added: the Flamethrower and Bolt Gun.

Napalm & Cordite will set you back $6. Guerilla is also bundling the new maps with the four previously released for a total price of $12--a savings of $6 on the six maps.

Guerilla Games today announced another upcoming DLC/patch combo for Killzone 2.

The DLC consists of two new fire and ice themed maps titled Napalm and Cordite, and will also pack in two appropriately themed weapons, the Flamethrower and Boltgun. A handful of screenshots from each map are included in the gallery below.

The content will also see the release of a patch 1.28 for the game, which notably adds new moderation and gameplay options. The patch goes live on Tuesday, July 14, while the undated DLC could hit that Thursday.

This week's PlayStation Store update brings us the Killzone 2 Flash & Thunder Pack ($5.99), a pack including two original Killzone multiplayer maps remade for the sequel. The second downloadable map pack for Guerrilla's PlayStation 3-exclusive shooter Killzone 2 will arrive in the European PlayStation Store on June 11, publisher Sony said today. The North American date was not confirmed, but is expected to be the same. Dubbed "The Flash and Thunder Pack" and described by Sony as "the second awesome instalment" of Killzone 2 DLC, the download contains remakes of two multiplayer maps from the first Killzone game: Beach Head and Southern Hills.

No price was given. The first map pack, Steel and Titanium, sold for $5.99.

Update: Sony has confirmed that the pack will hit North America on 6/11 for $5.99.

Having already fulfilled the first of the three steps for releasing downloadable content--announcement--publisher Sony today progressed to phase two--a solid release date--for Guerrilla's upcoming Killzone 2 (PS3) map pack, "Steel and Titanium."

The two new multiplayer maps, Wasteland Bullet and Vekta Cruiser, are due April 30. Now, all that's left is the last step--pricing details--and the cycle can start anew.

A map pack featuring two new multiplayer maps for Guerrilla Games' recently released shooter Killzone 2 (PS3) will arrive as downloadable content "towards the end of April," studio director Herman Hulst revealed in the latest episode of GameTrailers TV.

No pricing was mentioned for the pack, which is titled "Steel & Titanium." The first map, Vekta Cruiser, delivers a vertically-oriented arena set in an ISA flagship. The other, Wasteland Bullet, features two speeding trains, with players able to hop between.

"We try to come out with frequent and consistent downloadable content," explained Hulst. "Going forward, you're gonna get some proper new features as well."

He also teased that the second, as-yet-undated, map pack, will include a "retro" map.

With Killzone 2 due out on PlayStation 3 this Friday, publisher Sony and developer Guerrilla Games have issued a new "making of" trailer filled with new gameplay footage.

The downloadable demo for Guerrilla Games' much-hyped PlayStation 3 first-person shooter Killzone 2 will hit both the North American and European PlayStation Stores this Thursday, February 5, according to Sony Computer Entertainment UK.

Though the North American demo will be limited to those that pre-ordered the game from GameStop, the European demo will be available to the public, presumably including those in North America that make a European PlayStation Store account.

The demo will contain a tutorial, as well as two parts of the game's first stage, Sony Computer Entertainment informed Joystiq alongside confirmation of the release.

For those that in North America don't feel like dealing with the hassle of creating another PlayStation Store account, the North American PlayStation Store will provide public access to the demo on February 26, one day before the shooter lands in stores.

Guerilla Games' PlayStation 3-exclusive shooter Killzone 2 will at last make its way to stores on February 27, and the game is already scoring high marks in early reviews.

Guerrilla Games' anticipated PlayStation 3 first person shooter Killzone 2 has gone gold in North America, meaning that the game is done and has entered manufacturing.

Killzone 2 will hit North American store shelves on February 27. A playable demo is slated to hit the online PlayStation Store the day before the game hits. However, those that pre-order the title from GameStop will be able to access the demo a bit earlier in the month with the help of an exclusive pre-order download code.

"I couldn't be more ecstatic with what the fine folks at Guerrilla have accomplished and we cannot wait to get this thing into your hands," associate producer Mike Graham wrote in a post on the official PlayStation.Blog.

Those that aren't willing to plunk down $5 at GameStop for early access to the Killzone 2 demo will get access to the download on February 26, MTV Multiplayer reports.

It's not known exactly when the demo will be available to pre-ordering folk. Stores should have the codes now, and codes for online orders will start going out February 2.

Sony had said that the demo would be exclusive to GameStop pre-orderers until the PS3-exclusive shipped, which is technically true, as the Guerrilla Games-developed shooter will ship to retailers at least one day in advance of its February 27 release.

It turns out that GameStop wasn't joking around when it promised "exclusive access" to a downloadable Killzone 2 (PS3) demo in exchange for a $5 pre-order.

Publisher Sony has confirmed that if you want experience a portion of Guerrilla's anticipated first-person shooter before its retail release on February 27, you'll need to enter into a financial arrangement with GameStop and its retail monkey minions.

At some point following the game's release, the demo will then be made public.

"The demo will be available on the PSN after the game ships but only through GameStop until then," Sony clearly and concisely explained to Joystiq.

With Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 coming February 27, word of a demo for the anticipated PlayStation 3 first person shooter shouldn't seem all that out of the ordinary. However, there's a slight twist, as Joystiq points out that retailer GameStop is offering "exclusive access" to the downloadable demo in exchange for a $5 pre-order.

Those that reserve the game in-store will receive a card with a download code, while those that pre-order online will be e-mailed their code beginning February 3--suggesting that the demo will be available no earlier than that day.

Publisher Sony has yet to say when the demo will inevitably be released for public consumption. Earlier this year, Valve held a similiar promotion for Left 4 Dead, offering pre-order customers early access to the demo prior to its public release.

The date was announced this evening on an episode of G4's X-Play, which featured a segment on the game and an appearance by managing producer Kyle Shubel.

New screenshots and artwork of Guerrilla Games' first PlayStation 3 effort Killzone 2 have been released, highlighting the shooter's multiplayer component.

Killzone 2 is scheduled for a February 2009 release.

Nintendo may have its Wii models, but Sony has taken the pretend-gaming angle one step further with this chatty multiplayer trailer for Killzone 2.

The multiplayer component of Guerilla Games' shooter is a class-based affair. Servers will support up to 32 players, with each side of 16 further broken up into squads of four.

Killzone 2 is set to arrive next February on PlayStation 3.
