A: The whole animation system has been reworked, and all the skeletons re-boned. The animations will be much better than IGI1.fractalgp: In recently released screenshots it seems that up close, textures tend to look rather washed out. Will the graphics be enhanced towards the relase of the game, or are they more or less finalized?
A: Definitely. Many of the textures are placeholder or are being re-worked; the final graphics haven't really been shown off yet.

Jolyon Leonard - Multiplayer will borrow heavily from the singleplayer missions, with multiple objectives, massive environments, and alarm systems. But there is where the similarity ends, rather than being a lone operative there is a focus on team play to achieve the objectives for each map, with teams taking the role of either Âattackers or defenders ...

JB: We are particularly excited about the multiplayer mode. There are so many possibilities and opportunities; we're having great fun working with this. IGI 2 is scheduled to launch in Q2 2002 on PC CD-ROM and Codemasters is making the game a priority title.

Thankfully, Innerloop is designing a completely new Artificial Intelligence system for IGI 2: "We are working hard, and with a lot of resources, to create excellent AI for IGI 2," Henning tells us when we ask him about possible improvements. "The enemy soldiers will work as a team, move in formations, and communicate with each other far more effectively." Enemies will reportedly use realistic combat tactics and electronic security systems to locate Jones, hunt him down, and neutralise him.
