Forza 3 Includes Free DLC With New Copies

Oct 07, 2009 12:40pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3, DLC
As the industry continues its efforts to minimise used game sales, Turn 10 Studios has announced that new copies of racer Forza 3 will include free downloadable content.

A single-use code found in new copies will grant the exclusive Motorsports Legends Car Pack, containing ten classic cars as well as two tracks--the new 'Benchmark High Speed Ring' set around an old airfield, and returning track 'Sidewinder Proving Grounds.'

Developers and publisher have long griped that they see nothing of the huge profits used game sales bring retailers. Gears of War 2 and NBA Live 09 are among the games which have previously attempted to encourage the purchase of new copies by packing free DLC, with BioWare's RPG Dragon Age: Origins also set to follow... Jul 28, 2009 12:00pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3, Screenshots
With over 100 tracks and more than 400 cars in Forza Motorsport 3, you have to wonder if Microsoft and developer Turn 10 will have revealed every vehicle in location in the Xbox 360 racing sequel by the time it arrives on October 27, or if some will be a suprise.
I'm sure a bit of math could be used figure it out--for example, today's update details 12 Euro-Sport Compacts and the Circuit de Catalunya raceway--but where's the fun in that? Instead, let's take a look at the list of new cars that was issued today... Read more

New Forza 3 Screenshots: Ferrari vs. Ford

Jul 10, 2009 6:25pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3, Screenshots
Developer Turn 10 has released a new batch of screenshots for its racer sequel Forza Motorsport 3. The third screenshot, showing the interior of the Ferrari, is impressive--though it seems to lack an iPod hookup. I think I'll have to stick with the Yaris.

Forza 3 is due out on Xbox 360 this October.

The Hot Cars of Forza 3, and a Yaris

Jun 30, 2009 2:23pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3
I know next to nothing about cars, but one thing I do know is that I love racing games that include comparatively pedestrian vehicles. There's nothing like racing a high-performance Formula One machine while behind the wheel of a virtual 1992 Ford Taurus station wagon.

In that spirit, of the following 15 Japanese-manufactured cars, 9 are production cars. See if you can spot the street-legal motors in the gallery below.

One of these cars is not like the other.
Also detailed are three "legendary" tracks set in Japan: the Suzuka Circuit, Tsukuba Circuit and Twin Ring Motegi.

Rumor: Forza 3 Coming This Holiday

Feb 16, 2009 4:00pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3, Rumor
Turn 10's racing sequel Forza 3 will be on store shelves in time for Christmas, according to a new report by VG247.

The report cites an anonymous source, with no comment from Microsoft. Forza 3 has yet to be officially announced.

In documents culled from last year's leak at marketing research firm Intellisponse, Forza 3 was said to span two DVDs, including over 400 cars and 100 tracks.

Forza 3 Spans Two DVDs, Has Over 100 Tracks?

Jun 16, 2008 12:45pm CST tags: Forza Motorsport 3, Rumor, Leak, Microsoft
Internal documents from marketing research firm Intellisponse indicate that the next entry in Turn 10's Xbox-exclusive racing simulation series is apparently so massive that it spans two DVDs.

Specifically, the firm claims the unannounced game will pack "over 400 cars and 100 tracks."

The information comes as part of massive data leak from Intellisponse that was documented by NeoGAF. The company's clients include Microsoft, Activision, and many others. As Intellisponse is a marketing research firm, this data could represent market surveys or test concepts instead of actual facts.

The documents also note that Microsoft is toying with the idea of a collector's edition that would include a "special VIP program that would entitle the user to all future Forza 3 downloadable content, access to exclusive online race events and prizes, extra server space" and more.
