Titan Studios' blood-letting, cake-scoffing downloadable PlayStation 3 game Fat Princess has been delayed until later in the summer, a Sony representative has said.

Fat Princess was due to arrive this month, leaving only next Thursday's weekly PlayStation Store update as a possible release date. "Fat Princess will have a global release date," wrote PlayStation Store Team member Mike Kebby on the European PlayStation.Blog "but I can confirm for you it will not be next week I'm afraid."

"The game is coming at some point this summer, but there is no confirmed release date at the moment," said Kebby. Until then, would-be feeders and fighters can get their fix with the charming Legend of the Fat Princess trailer and our impressions.

Fat Princess Hands-On: More to Love

Apr 29, 2009 2:45pm CST tags: Fat Princess, Preview
It's quite obvious that Sony and developer Titan Studios are aiming for the funny bone with their upcoming PlayStation Network title, Fat Princess. But after playing the game at a recent pre-E3 press gathering, I found that Fat Princess has more to offer than a couple cheap laughs.

While the irreverent humor and cute art style certainly take center stage throughout the experience, the unique blend of action and real-time strategy that makes up the gameplay in Fat Princess is the real star of the show. It's a funny game, but more importantly, it's also a fun game.

When I first started playing Fat Princess I couldn't help but make the connection between this game and one of my favorite and unfortunately oft-forgotten... Read more

Fat Princess Screenshots Encourage Cruel Jokes

Mar 25, 2009 7:17am CST tags: Fat Princess, Screenshots, PlayStation Store
New Fat Princess screenshots this morning show more of developer Titan Studios' light-hearted take on obesity, abduction and false imprisonment.

You, up to 16 noble heroes, must rescue your beloved princess from the depths of the dastardly enemy team's castle, where they are fattening her up with delicious cake so she's harder to carry away. Oh, and you have their podgy princess in your own castle too--you fiends!--so you best stifle their rescue attempt.

Players can switch between Fat Princess's five character classes--mage, priest, worker, warrior and archer--cutely and conveniently by picking up a new hat. The humble worker might not seem glamourous in this frenetic multiplayer action but is essential, collecting resources to construct fortifications and upgrade hat machines to power up classes.

Published by Sony, Fat Princess is reportedly due on the PlayStation Store this summer.
