According to a new post on the Far Cry website, the Far Cry 1.2 patch and mod SDK will not be released next week. Some bugs were found "which justify extra testing", no new release date is mentioned. Thanks Emilio.

The Far Cry website has been updated, mentioning that the long-awaited mod SDK will be released June 14. A new patch for the game is scheduled for release sometime between June 7 and June 14, and lastly the dedicated Windows/Linux server files will be out between June 15 and June 18.

The Ubisoft has a list of changes which will find their way in to the upcoming 1.2 patch for Far Cry. It will offer such changes such as a 15% increased in run speed (and it lasts 30% longer too), increased vehicle survival, network improvements, and it will fix several crashing and multiplayer issues. As promised, Ubisoft has released the Far Cry 1.1 patch. The 27mb update fixes several singleplayer and multiplayer issues and also adds support for Punkbuster and All Seeing Eye. Thanks Jeff.

According to this post on the Ubisoft forums, the first Far Cry patch will not be released today as first promised - instead it will be released tomorrow. The post also offers a list of changes/fixes which includes Punkbuster integration and All Seeing Eye support. Thanks Blues News.

GameSpot has a news story up about Far Cry shipping, also mentioning that the game's first patch is due out tomorrow. It will fix compatibility issues between the US and Canada, and also takes care of multiplayer damage issues. A quick-save patch is expected next month.

No Far Cry "Boat" Demo

According to this post on the Ubisoft forums, the third single-player Far Cry demo that was expected this week will not be released. There's no reason given for the cancellation. The post also mentions that a multiplayer demo will be released shortly after the game ships, and that the full game will have 5 difficulty levels compared to the demo's 3. Thanks Blues News.
