Heavy Metal 2K Release Date

Browsing over at Cinescape, I noticed that they have the release information on Heavy Metal 2000. HM2K being the recently renamed movie on which Ritual's Heavy Metal: FAKK2 is based. Starz Encore announced that the movie will premier on the Starz cable channel on Friday, July 14 at midnight EST/PST.

FAKK You has an interview with one of the programmers on FAKK2, Scott Alden. This interview focuses on the ingame consoles/menus (yes multiple) that will allow level designers to edit a lot of items without having to recompile the level, even making cinematic movies.

Ritual Entertainment has released some new high-res screenshots of their Quake3 engine powered FAKK2 game which should be entering the final quarter of development. Another movie has popped up on incite, the FAKK2 movie from their April cover CD. This mpeg weighs in at 63mb though, so you might wanna just pick up the magazine if it's still on stands. They also have the 24mb Julie Strain interview/photoshoot available video available for download.

FAKK2 Movie Release Info

Yeah, yeah, I know it's not the game or anything, but it's somewhat pertinent. The movie's been a bit late (it was supposed to be out last year sometime), but it seems to be coming out July 10th on the Encore network. For all of you saying "There's a network called Encore?", you're not alone :-) Also, the movie's going to be marketed under the name Heavy Metal 2000, though the movie's actual title and the video game's title will remain the same according to Kevin Eastman. Got this from Cinescape who got it from Comics2Film.
