The OblivionDownloads.com site has been updated, as the third official plugin is now available. Wizard's Tower offers a new structure to explore, with things available like teleports to every Mages Guild, a laboratory to improve your alchemy skills and a Enchanting and Spellmaking station. The plugin also adds a pell and Recharge vendor in the Imperial City.

Bethesda's OblivionDownloads.com site now has the Orrery quest up for download for people wanting to grab it for their PC copy. The official plugin is a $1.89 download. There's also a new team Q&A on RPG Vault, today about the team's personal preferences for player characters.

RPG Vault has posted an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion team Q&A, asking the people at Bethesda about their contributions to the game.

FiringSquad has a new Oblivion benchmarking article, this time testing the game with a few mainstream videocards instead of those $500 beasts.

Bethesda sends along this press release, announcing that all the hype and critical acclaim for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is translating into big sales. So far 1.7 million units of the game have shipped to stores, and the RPG has become the fastest selling game released on the Xbox 360.

The NPD Group Inc reports Oblivion PC as the best selling PC game, while the Oblivion Collectors Edition is ranked number 2. NPD reports that Oblivion represented approximately 13% of all PC game sales in the first week of its release, more than four times the sales volume of the next best selling title. (The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, the highly-regarded predecessor to Oblivion, remains one of the top 25 best selling PC games nearly four years after its release, according to NPD). European results have been similarly strong with Oblivion quickly becoming ranked the number one selling title in the UK, Germany and France.

Looks like the daily threads have almost run their course. It's been a fun run though, going on much longer than I thought it would. But then, the game is so good.

Oblivion chat continues here. There is also related news, as ATI has released a beta Catalyst driver for Radeon videocard owners that allows you to use HDR and AA concurrently. Being beta, it is unsupported. Meanwhile the official Oblivion forums have word of a patch that is in the works for the game (thanks Voodoo Extreme). The patch will fix bugs encountered by players and Bethesda employees, and European patches will also take care of some localization errors. The same post also mentions that the next DLC release for the game will be 150 points, instead of the 200 the horse armor plugin cost on the Xbox Live marketplace. For the PC, the price will drop from $1.99 to $1.89.

I haven't been able to play the game all week... my dark elf knight sure isn't going to level up that way. So many quests left to do.

Really, just like Christopher Walken needed more cowbell I think we need more Oblivion chat.

I did come across some Goblins yesterday but they didn't have any lockpicks on them. Thankfully I found a dude who was selling them (thanks kbnerd) and was able to proceed with several quests. Pretty sure it's been a while since I spent over 37 hours on one game!

Goblins, oh where are some goblins. I need lockpicks badly.
