Dreamkiller Trailer Delves Into Developers' Brains

Sep 25, 2009 2:02pm CST tags: Dreamkiller, Trailer
"It's just straight-forward first-person shooter--tons of monsters, tons of enemies on-screen all at once coming at you," says Dreamkiller associate producer Randall Davis, "Nowhere to hide, just really old-school, adrenaline-pumping first-person action."

While Dreamkiller's gameplay might be straight-forward, its trappings are less conventional. Playing as Dr. Alice Drake, you enter the minds of "the mentally disturbed" to cure their demons "in a calculated, smart kind of way. Even if it involves explosives."

Developed by Mindware Studios, Dreamkiller arrives on PC and Xbox 360 in October.

'Mega-bloodbath' FPS Dreamkiller Announced

Jun 29, 2009 4:12pm CST tags: Dreamkiller, Mindware Studios, Aspyr, Screenshots
Claiming that they are about to "blast through the dark recesses of the mind," publisher Aspyr and developer Mindware (Cold War, Painkiller: Overdose) today unveiled their upcoming "mega-bloodbath first-person shooter" Dreamkiller.

Much like Double Fine's Psychonauts, Dreamkiller tasks players with entering the minds of troubled individuals in an attempt to save them from their own inner demons. Unlike Psychonauts, Dreamkiller focuses on fast-paced shooting and "over-the-top weapons."

Several multiplayer modes accompany the 12-level single-player campaign, in which psychologist Alice Drake also uses her "supernatural abilities" to combat mental evil.

In development for PC and Xbox 360, Dreamkkiller is slated to arrive this fall.
