Adding to the heap of Xbox 360 RPG coverage today, Namco Bandai announced that its Xbox 360-exclusive RPG Tales of Vesperia would touch down in North America this coming August.

The company also noted that a free demo of the game will be available via the Xbox Live Marketplace before the end of June, granting curious gamers a look at the action RPG a short time prior to the general release.

Vesperia marks the latest installment of Namco Bandai's long-running Tales franchise, kicked off in 1995 with the Japan-only Tales of Phantasia on the Super Famicom. Tales of Vesperia is said to incorporate a variety of tweaks and updates to the series' traditional action-based combat system.

Codemasters has released a second Race Driver: GRID demo, sponsored by eBay Motors. The 690mb download features the eBay Motors Muscle Series and two tracks.

Race Driver: GRID is now available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Nintendo DS release following in August.

New on FileShack this morning is the PC demo for Devil May Cry 4. A 805mb download, the demo offers about ten minutes of gameplay and a boss battle.

If you're not sure your machine can run the game, there is this benchmark tool. Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last February; the PC port ships in July with additional game modes and enhanced graphical options.

A demo of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Hothead Games' role playing game based on the popular webcomic, is now available for download from FileShack. If you like what you see, you can buy the full episode through Greenhouse.com. The demo and game are also available through the Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 owners.

At FileShack you can find a LEGO Indiana Jones demo, offering you the opportunity to play a scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The demo is a 464mb download. The full version of LEGO Indiana Jones: The Videogame will be released for PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, and Nintendo DS next month.

Following the release of a Race Driver: GRID demo for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a demo for the PC version is available now as well. A 894mb download, the PC demo also includes three tracks and three cars. Race Driver: GRID will be released for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS next month.

A Sins of a Solar Empire singleplayer demo is now available at FileShack, for those of you interested in trying out Ironclad's recently released 4X space strategy game. The 536mb download includes four tutorials, two small maps, one randomly generated medium map and a 90 minute play limit. A playable demo is now available for Lost Empire: Immortals, the new 4X space strategy game from Pollux Gamelabs. The 600mb download offers 350 turns in a single galaxy, and includes the Humans as playable race and Megalanians and Horde factions as opposing ones. The retail version of Lost Empire: Immortals is shipping this week.

Electronic Arts has released a second Need for Speed ProStreet demo, featuring all-Porsche content. The 571MB download includes the Porsche GT2 and GT3RS cars, and Porsche's Leipzig testing track. Need for Speed ProStreet was released for PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS last November, with a PSP release following later this month.

Newly available on FileShack this morning is a demo for Imperium Romanum, a new historical strategy game from Haemimont Games (Glory of the Roman Empire, Celtic Kings). Publisher SouthPeak Games recently announced that the game will be hitting North American retail stores this March.

A new Frontlines: Fuel of War (PC, X360) demo can now be downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace, offering a second look at the upcoming sci-fi military shooter from Kaos Studios. Following December's single-player demo, this 1.11gb download offers multiplayer content.

Following releases on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network, a PC demo for The Club is now available as well. A 1.9GB download, the demo of Bizarre Creations' third person arcade shooter includes single-player content in the form of two locations and the Siege game mode. The retail version of The Club (PC, PS3, X360) opens for business February 19.

A demo is now available for Shadowgrounds Survivor, Frozenbyte's top-down shooter sequel. The trial allows you to kill aliens for 30 minutes, after which you can buy a key to unlock the rest of the game.

Much more interesting than viewing some media is the opportunity to try out Conflict: Denied Ops (PC, PS3, X360) for yourself. On FileShack you can now find a 954mb demo, which includes single-player and two player co-op modes.

A demo for the third stand-alone expansion to Relic's venerable Warhammer 40,000 RTS series was released today, and is now available on Fileshack. The single-player demo clocks in at 1.12 GB.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm adds two new races to the mix, the Dark Eldar and the Sisters of Battle, for a total of nine playable factions. Aerial units have also bolstered the armies of all races, with the exception of the robot-like Necron.

All nine races will be enabled for play in the campaign mode, but only those who own the previous titles in the series will have access to the full selection during multiplayer sessions.

The expansion is currently set for a March 7 release on PC.

An extended PC demo of Valve Software's 2007 hit (and Shacknews Game of the Year by both readers and editors) Portal (PC, PS3, X360) will be made available for free to gamers with NVIDIA graphics cards, the developer announced today.

The demo, called Portal: First Slice, comes as part of a recent agreement between Valve and NVIDIA to "collaborate on development, distribution, events, and more." Gamers equipped with NVIDIA graphics cards looking to give the test chambers and deathtraps of the Aperture Science labs a trial run must allow Steam to auto-detect their NVIDIA cards to unlock the demo.

First Slice and the collaborative campaign between the two companies marks a departure from the former marketing team-up between ATI and Valve, shifted by an increase in NVIDIA hardware use among Steam gamers. "More Steam gamers, including myself, play on NVIDIA hardware than any other GPU," said Valve marketing VP Doug Lombardi, citing Valve's frequent gamer hardware surveys.

Portal: First Slice is available for immediate download from Steam—provided, of course, that you've got an NVIDIA card under the hood. Like Valve's previous free game offer for ATI users, this download also includes Half-Life 2: The Lost Coast and Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, as well as Peggle Extreme.

A demo of the PC version of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men -- which some say is better than its console brethren -- is now available from FileShack. The 594mb download includes one mission from the game, which you can play in single-player or same screen co-op modes. Developed by Io Interactive of Hitman fame, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is currently available in stores for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Head over to FileShack to grab a demo of The Witcher (PC), the recently released fantasy role playing game from Polish developer CD Projekt. The 1.97gb download includes the game's prologue as as well as all of Act 1.

A demo of the stand-alone Company of Heroes expansion pack Opposing Fronts is now available from FileShack. The 1.92gb download includes tutorials and the first two missions from Operation Market Garden.

Following an earlier singleplayer demo, a multiplayer demo is now available for the time bending first person shooter TimeShift. The demo is a 1gb download; it's unclear what modes / maps are included.
