Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad Coming to US, Bringing Scantily Clad Zombie Slaying to Xbox 360

Roughly a month after D3Publisher announced that it would be bringing the bikini-clad heroine Onechanbara and her zombie-slaying antics to the Wii next year, the studio has revealed its plans to publish the Xbox 360 release in North America as well.

Much like the forthcoming Wii version, the Tamsoft-developed Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad has lead Aya and her schoolgirl sister Saki batting against legions of the undead in both singleplayer and cooperative multiplayer modes.

The bikini-clad heroine Onechanbara and her zombie-slaying antics will at long last debut in North America on the Wii early next year, D3Publisher has announced.

Titled Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, the Tamsoft-developed title has players swinging, slashing and thrusting the Wii Remote to battle hordes of zombie enemies. Sisters Aya and Saki each have their own unique set of moves, with the game offering two-person co-op play.

This marks the first North America release of the series, which debuted in Japan as a Simple 2000 budget title on the PlayStation 2 and was later brought to the Xbox 360 and Wii. A live-action film based on the franchise was released in Japan last month.

Following its PlayStation 2 release, Onechanbara gained a cult following similar to that of Sandlot's giant monster-killing Earth Defense Force series, which likewise debuted as a Simple 2000 PS2 title before making its way to North America in Xbox 360 form.
