Yup, it's happened. After a lot of speculation, Aureal announced that Creative will be buying the company's assets for $28 million in cash and additional Creative stock as well. The sale will also settle the lawsuit between the two companies. Aureal filed for chapter 11 around March of this year. Guillemot was also in running of purchasing the Aureal assets.

About the bi-weekly status update of Aureal again, Vortex of Sound is reporting that it still looks like Creative is going to grab the Aureal assets for some $35 million. Some of the company's creditors aren't happy with Creative as a buyer though so they might try and prevent the sale.

As a followup to their Q&A session with Steve Mosher of Creative a few weeks ago, nvNews has asked him some more questions. They discuss the upcoming GeForce2 Ultra offering as well as an Creative GeForce2MX card.

Creative's Steve Mosher has been interviewed on nvNews. They talk about the GeForce2 Ultra card that Creative will be releasing, as well as plans for anything exclusive to be included on their cards in the form of drivers or games, and other things like the Voodoo 5 6000 and the NV20.

Creative has released some new Graphics Blaster drivers for their NVidia-chipset powered cards. The new release includes "Better support for multiple monitors in Windows 98, Improved CRT monitor detection".

Creative has released Creative Blaster Control 4.01 for Windows 9x, NT and 2K users. These are for all the NVidia powered videocards from Creative, and now support FSAA like the reference drivers. Thanks Mazo.

Creative has released new drivers for their NVidia chipset powered line of videocards, as well as a new version of their BlasterControl application.

Creative has released a whole bunch of new drivers. There are Win2k videocard drivers for their 3D Blaster RIVA TNT/TNT2/GeForce , and NT4 as well as Win9x soundcard drivers for their SB Live. Thanks Zeppel.

Well Rounded Entertainment has word of Creative announcing their GeForce2 based card. The 3D Blaster Annihilator 2 will be on shelves next month at an estimated price of $349.99.

Creative has released Live!Ware for Win2000 systems, so if you're running on MS's newest OS and have a SB Live! be sure to get this package.

There are new Win9x drivers available for the Creative TNT and GeForce family of cards right here. It's described as a minor revision update.

There are some new Creative TNT1/2/GeForce drivers based on the 3.68 reference drivers by NVidia on the Creative FTP.

Saw this story on Yahoo about two new portable MP3 players by Creative Labs. No idea how freaking much this one is gonna cost but one of them, the Creative NOMAD Jukebox, can store 6gb instead of the standard wimpy 32/64mb. And it's still the size of a portable CD-player. Now that is some serious good space for your MP3 collection :)

The Creative NOMAD Jukebox is a USB, multi-format portable audio player/recorder. This new light-weight (14oz.) digital audio player, in the size of a CD disc player, features high capacity storage capabilities with 6GB of built-in storage that holds an entire music collection (over 150 albums) or up to 2,600 hours of spoken word. They also announced the Creative NOMAD II MG, but that's just some pussy 64mb player :)

Creative Labs has released new Unified drivers so that CL GeForce card users can now also use this Glide driver. Thanks Riva 3D.

3DSpotlight has word that Creative Labs seems to be working on enabling sideband support for their GeForce cards. The later GeForce drivers had to disable sidebanding in AGP due to stability issues. (I'm pretty sure it had to do with Athlon's in particular)
