Westwood has released a new patch for C&C Renegade, updating all the different language versions of their first person shooter to 1.036. There aren't too many changes but if you play online you wanna grab this. You can also grab the patches from FileShack, where we have the updated Windows dedicated server as well. Renegade Server Prereleased

To prepare for an upcoming C&C Renegade patch, Westwood has released a dedicated server for Linux, for the Red Hat distro. The server is pretty much useless without the patch but at least you can test to see if it runs correctly. FileShack has mirrored both versions of the server, the one for Red Hat 7.3 and the one for Red Hat 8.0.

Westwood has released new patches for C&C Renegade, upgrading their 3D action game to version 1.034. This new patch takes care of multiplayer server issues. You can grab the English or international patches from FileShack, along with the updated dedicated Windows server. Thanks 3D Gamers.

According to a post on GameSpyDaily, we won't be seeing a sequel to C&C Renegade any time soon. They link to a messageboard post on the official Westwood forums (currently not working) where someone from Westwood mentions
"Just to end the speculation, we were working on a sequel to Renegade, which was [situated] in the R[ed]A[lert] universe and focused mostly on multiplay but it has indeed been cancelled."
Response to the first game was pretty mixed.

As promised, Westwood has released a new patch for their first person shooter C&C Renegade. The 17.3mb download adds air units to the game. There's also a new Win32 server (54.3mb). Westwood's Cliff Hicks made a post on the official C&C Renegade forums, saying a new patch for the game will be released in the next 48 hours. It will include the promised air vehicles. The mod tools should also be released, along with a new dedicated server. They are still working on the Linux server, that release will follow later.

C&C Renegade Stuff is a Q&A on Penny Arcade, which has Westwood's Cliff Hicks answering some questions about Renegade. The PA guys don't go easy on Cliff, with questions like "It seems like you essentially forced people to use GameSpy.", "I can tell what things are, but the visuals don't seem to be on par with your competitors. " and "Why the hell would you choose C&C Under as the Demo map?".
