Analysts Divided on Tiberium Cancellation
Following the cancellation of Electronic Arts' Command & Conquer-themed first person shooter Tiberium, industry analysts have offered differing opinions on what it means for the publisher.
Janco Partners analyst Mick Hickey says that since the game was canceled so far into development, the late decision raises questions about EA's management.
"Continued lack of management execution and/or product quality, damages new management's credibility and dampens our excitement for the company's shares," said Hickey.Meanwhile, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter believes that either way, weeding out the bad apples is a good thing.
"Canceling a bad game goes a long way toward preserving the quality of the overall lineup," said Pachter, according to Gamasutra.
"The thing is they forgot to buy boxes of success to inject into the game from the start :("23 Comments
