HomeLAN Fed has conducted an interview with Richard Dakan of Cryptic Studios, the guys working on the MMORPG City of Heroes. JCal asks about difficulties in designing a MMO game with features that other games don't have, influential comics, super powers, becoming a super villain, the engine and a few other things.

Gamespot has conducted an interview with Jack Emmert of Cryptic Studios, quizzing him on the upcoming superheroes MMORPG City of Heroes. There are questions about why they are making a MMORPG where you play a superhero, other inhabitants of the game world, the character creation process, superpowers, the ability to form an alliance with other players to fight crime and more. GS: Will players be able to re-create their favorite heroes, such as Superman or Spider-Man? If so, how do you plan to balance out such powerful characters?

JE: Every character starts off as fledgling hero. Take Spider-Man, for instance--in the early Steve Ditko issues, Spider-Man was agile and strong, but nowhere near the power level he exhibits today in Straczynski's Amazing Spider Man. Superman was quite powerful in Action Comics #1, but he couldn't just fly into space like today. We want our players to feel the excitement of growing their hero into one of Paragon's greatest champions.

The interview also comes with two new screenshots from the game.

Gamespy has posted an interview with Jack Emmert of Cryptic Studios. They are currently working on the superheroes MMORPG City of Heroes. There are questions about the games the team members have worked on previously, destroyable terrain/buildings, pricing, the Cryptic engine and more.

What, another MMORPG? Gamers Uplink has some screenshots and details on City of Heroes. You will be able to design your own superhero and fight with other players against evil. Its due to be released in the summer of 2002.
