Those hoping to relive the glory days of Q3Test are in luck: id Software's web-based Quake 3 throwback Quake Live is now open for beta signups on the official website.

Quake Live will be a free multiplayer FPS accessed through a single web portal--quakelive.com--which will also offer free friends lists, sponsored events, tournaments, and matchmaking services.

Universe at War: Earth Assault Beta Signups

Completing the MMORPG beta testing trifecta, Auran Studios is now accepting applications for the Fury beta. The fantasy MMORPG, which focuses on Player vs Player combat, will be released in North America by Gamecock this holiday season. People interested in beta testing the Roman mythology-based MMORPG Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising can now sign up at the official website. There is no age requirement, and in addition to accepting English language testers, Perpetual Entertainment is also looking for people interested in testing French, German and Italian language versions of the game. The Sony Online Entertainment published Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is scheduled for release later this year.

Warhammer Online Beta Signup

EA Mythic is now accepting registrations for the upcoming closed beta test of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, the fantasy MMORPG based on the Games Workshop tabletop game.

People in North America, South America and Asia can go here, Europeans can sign up here. Spots are limited, and testers will be selected based on system specs, testing experience and community involvement.

There's no word on when the beta will start. The game itself is scheduled for an early 2008 release.

Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn Beta Signups Open

Electronic Arts has launched the official signups for Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn, the in-development heavy revamp of the original Ultima Online being developed by the Ultima Online team and EA Mythic. First announced last year, the game features a new graphics engine and recreated artwork as well as a redesigned user interface, making the most significant overhaul the game has seen in its nearly ten years of operation.

The beta will start with a very limited group of people, but it will expand weekly until the general public partakes later this summer. Tribes: Vengeance will ship to stores in October. GameSpot is reporting that Sony Online Entertainment will start taking EverQuest 2 beta signups next Monday. EverQuest Legends subscribers will receive top priority, as will people who used the Lords of EverQuest special offer. Beta testing will begin in June. GameSpot also has a Q&A with the senior producer John Blakely about the beta.

Well as you probably know by now, Blizzard will start accepting World of Warcraft beta applications starting tomorrow (the 28th) at 8PM CST. The signup period is a week, so it ends February 4 at 8PM CST. Testers will be randomly selected so no need to refresh the Blizzard website constantly tomorrow. Only people from the US, Canada and Korea can sign up, European testing will follow later this year.

As noted in this Battle.net forum post, Blizzard will start taking signups for the World of Warcraft at the end of the month. It is also mentioned the company is currently alpha testing the game internally and with a small outside group, unfortunately a test version of the game has hit the net thanks to one of these people ("While these files contain alpha content from the game, they are not fully playable and therefore do not convey the experience that World of Warcraft will provide when it is released").
