The America's Army development team sent along an email saying they are looking to hire a 3D modeler/texture artist. Here are the requirements: "Ideal candidates should be proficient in Maya and Photoshop, with particular skills in UV and texture painting. Applicants should be enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals ready to work with a motivated, high-energy team. Must be willing to relocate to Monterey, California, and be a US citizen or possess the appropriate right to work in the United States. Submit resume and portfolio to: Phillip Bossant".

The America's Army team send along word that they are looking to hire a game model/texture artist. Working with Maya is required, unless your resume is real impressive, in which case they'll let you use your software of choice. Experience with the latest Unreal engine is a plus. Resumes can be sent to these two guys.

Uncle Sam let us know that a new version of America's Army Operations is out, now at v1.50. The update includes parental controls, an updated Weapons Cache Special Edition map, and several gameplay improvements/fixes/additions. You can grab the update from 1.40 here from FileShack, a full 1.50 download is also available.

As promised, Uncle Sam has now released version 1.40 of the America's Army Operations game. There is a patch to update version 1.21, a patch to update version 1.30 or you can grab the new full install. Version 1.40 of America's Army Operations features a new map, a new scoring system, binoculars and more. Thanks 3D Gamers. The America's Army website has been updated, mentioning there's going to be a new update for the Operations part of the game soon. Version 1.4, due by Thanksgiving, will feature a new map, new equipment and several new features. Thanks Blues News.

There will be two competitions during November, resulting in a championship round in December. Here's an email we received from America's Army guys: "Americas Army: Operations is looking for full time, programmers with skills including programming animation, game logic, sound, physics, interfaces, and other systems who are talented, motivated and team oriented with a passion to build great games. The ideal candidate will show expertise or potential in C++ and Unreal Script or other programming tools. We received an email from the U.S. Army announcing that their America's Army: Operations game has gone gold. Being a free game and all, this game will not ship to stores however it will be available on CD. The CD will feature missions available on www.americasarmy.com as well as exclusive swamp raid and mountain ambush missions. The free CD will be available early October, and you will be able to pick it up at Army Recruiting stations, ROTC Detachment and Army events (which will be listed on the America's Army site as well).
America's Army: Operations is one part of the realistic America's Army computer game that provides civilians with an inside perspective and a virtual role in today's premier land force: the U.S. Army. The game includes the first-person-perspective action game Operations, as well as Soldiers, the role-playing portion of America's Army in which players navigate life's challenges to achieve life goals. Soldiers will be released later this fall.

As promised, the new 1.20 patch for America's Army Operations has been released. FileShack is hosting a 71mb upgrade from any previous version of the game, and a 49mb 1.11 -> 1.20 patch. As mentioned yesterday, the 1.20 patch adds the Airborne and Ranger Schools among other things.
