We managed to obtain an exclusive new video trailer for Monolith's Aliens versus Predator 2, showing off all new footage from the full game in a movie trailer-like way. The movie runs for 1 minute and 46 seconds, and is available as a low-res (4.4mb) or high-res (9mb) Windows Media file. You can also grab a zip file of the 9mb video if you don't want the video to stream in Windows Media Player. This video is not official but we are badasses. Aliens versus Predator 2 will be in stores later this month. If you want to know what to expect, there is a multi player as well as a single player demo available.

As promised (though maybe not as quick as promised), the Aliens versus Predator 2 multiplayer demo update has been released. The 4.4mb patch can be downloaded from the Shack, 3D Gamers or Blues News. If you didn't download the multiplayer demo, you can grab that from us too (67mb). Here's the fix list again in case you'd forgotten.

- Fixed the crash bug on the Join screen.
- Added a "[D]" to the end of server names that are dedicated...
- Added player rename functionality mid-game (i.e. ' Spanky')
- Added PageUp and PageDown support to the server list.
- Added mouse wheel support to the server list.
- Added double click join support to the server list.
- Fixed a couple of bugs that could cause long waiting times on the server list menu.
- Made it so you can hit Escape to cancel a server list refresh.

The weekly five Aliens versus Predator 2 screenshots have been posted on AvPNews. There's one cutscene screenshot and four screenshots from multiplayer levels (not from the recent demo).

Monolith CEO Jason Hall posted this message on our comments system, saying Monolith has been working on a Linux server port of Aliens versus Predator 2. Unless they hit some technical impossibility, the port should be out in the near future.

The Aliens versus Predator.com forums has a post from Monolith's Jason Hall saying they are working on a fix for the Aliens vs. Predator 2 multiplayer demo, since the in-game server browser likes crashing sometimes. Thanks wunderbred.

Sierra and Fox Interactive have announced that Monolith's FPS Aliens versus Predator 2 has gone gold. It should be showing up in stores late this month for a suggested retail price of $49.95.

The around-the-clock shifts have ended and the countdown begins as Sierra(tm) and Fox Interactive(tm) announced today that Aliens vs. Predator 2 has indeed gone gold. It's only a matter of time until players can immerse themselves in a game that combines elements, creatures, and settings from the hit movies Aliens( and Predator( in three unique, interlocking stories. Aliens, predators, and humans share one powerful trait-the enduring will to survive. The only question left to ask is "Will you be up to the challenge?"
