Aliens vs Predator 2 Patches

Frans at Blues News noticed Sierra has released some new patches for Aliens versus Predator 2. The English, German, French, Italian and Spanish files are all 6.4mb. Some gameplay problems are fixed, the Queen and the Exosuit are available in multiplayer, there are new chat commands and other multiplayer improvements among other things.

AvP2 Update

The Aliens versus Predator 2 team .plan file has been updated. In the .plan, there is word of an upcoming update for this FPS (though no mention of what this might include). An updated toolset is also forthcoming.

AvP2 Mod Tools

The Aliens versus Predator 2 editing tools have been released on Fileplanet. The 8.7mb download contains the world editor (plus sample levels), model editor and various importer/exporter tools.

AvP2 Patch And Upgrade

I see on Blues News that Sierra has released a new Aliens versus Predator 2 patch (mirror), offering gameplay fixes as well as multiplayer enhancements. There is also a 12.6mb multiplayer map update which offers four DM/TDM/Hunt/Survivor maps, four Evac maps and two Overrun maps.

Sierra has released the first single player map update for Monolith's Aliens versus Predator 2, which is a 12 mb download and makes changes to some of the singleplayer missions. Thanks Blues News.

Both House 'O Spank and Gamespy have posted Aliens versus Predator 2 interviews, talking to William Westwater of Monolith about this recently released FPS. Both are pretty much about things that they wanted to include but couldn't, the success of the game so far, and future projects.

XGR sends word of the Dave Stalker audio interview that they'll be broadcasting tonight. Dave Stalker was the Fox producer on Aliens versus Predator 2, which is what the interview will focus on. The interview starts at 8:30PM CST, a little later than usual for them.

The Hidden AvP2 Extras

AvPCenter has a 300kb utility which will enable some hidden extras in Aliens versus Predator 2 that's not being used in the game but Monolith left. These extras include an upgraded image intensifier, new pickup icons/HUD icons, new pulse rifle image for loading screen and different hurt sounds for the female colonial marine.

Sierra has released a 3.75mb patch for Monolith's Aliens versus Predator 2 (also available here), fixing pretty much the same bugs as the demo patch. Meaning, no more crashing ingame server browser along with a few other things. Thanks Blues News.
