No Alice DM

May 12, 2000 4:45am CST tags: Alice
Word from loony who got a look at the Rogue Entertainment Alice game being published by Quake3 is that there will be no multiplayer support. Originally there was a seperate game planned in first person mode (the game is in 3rd person) specifically for deathmatch. Canned. Doh.

New Alice Site

May 05, 2000 8:09pm CST tags: Alice
The site for American McGee's Alice has a new design, and also has some updates. First of all the first in-game screenshots of this 3rd person game are now up. There are 10 of em, and not particulary big in a 416x316 format. *Removed at request of Rogue* . There's also a FAQ and a weapon page which has Alice's knife for now. Thanks to Dark Places for the heads up.

update Rogue Entertainment level designer Bobby Pavlock just posted this in the comments

Before anybody says ANYTHING about the screenshots, I want everyone to be aware that those were NOT screenshots that were for release. I don't know who dropped the ball and told the webdudes at EA to post that shit. They in NO WAY reflect what the game really looks like. In short, those screenshots are ASS. They don't have half the stuff in them they should (textures, lighting, fogging, etc.) Please ignore that shit. Thanks.

Hopefully we'll see some current screenshots soon then!

No Alice @ E3

Not for the general public that is. Well-Rounded Entertainment is reporting that the Q3-engine game from EA/Rogue, Alice will only be shown behind closed doors at E3 so don't expect a flood of info from this game after the event.

Alice Web Update

Mar 29, 2000 7:35am CST tags: Alice
The "Alice" website has been updated with some new stuff, specifically the Mad Hatters Area. Blue pointed out the silly pontification on the front: "A sanguinolent feast awaits you at the Hatter’s abattoir". Translation: "Welcome to this new part of the website, enjoy yourself and NO PEEING ON THE RUGS!" Ok, so maybe not. Oh yeah, Peter Mack wants to know what platforms you want Alice ported to. Linux, BeOS, Mac, PSX/2, N64. Whatever you want. Let him know how you feel. Thanks BlahBlahBlah from #shugashack
