Following two Xbox 360-exclusive iterations, the latest game based off Screenlife's film trivia franchise "Scene It?" will appear on PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 this holiday--a move distributor Warner Bros. hopes will capitalize on "casual gaming's explosive growth."

Developed by Artificial Mind & Movement (A2M), Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! promises "thousands of new questions," with topics including "recently released 2009 movies as well as fan favorite Hollywood hits from the last four decades."

The announcement also listed a variety of "improvements" made by the developer that seem to target casual gamers, such as "a simplified game interface" and "a new, very entertaining game host" plus word of "new, unique mini-game content."

How Bethesda Made Rogue Warrior More Like Duke Nukem and Got WET with Elder Scrolls Novels

During its press event in London last week, Bethesda not only cleared up the status of its long in-development project Rogue Warrior, but also announced it would be publishing A2M's action shooter WET and licensing a series of Elder Scrolls novels.

Rogue Warrior, a shooter based on the exploits of Navy SEAL Richard Marcinko, was originally announced in 2006 as a Zombie Studios project. The game has since been scrapped, and the core project turned over to Alien vs. Predator developer Rebellion.

"Suffice it to say, we were not happy with what the direction of that project was," said Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines during the event.

Zombie's ambitious multiplayer plans for Rogue Warrior have been scaled back to deathmatch and team DM, while the singleplayer component is now a one-man affair that focuses more on Marcinko's unique personality. This focus is marked... Read more

Hell Comes to the PSP in Dante's Inferno

Now PSP owners can look forward to EA's own special brand of Hell, as the publisher has announced its third-person Satan-puncher Dante's Inferno will also hit the PSP.

Translating EA Redwood Shores's vision of Hell to the PSP is WET creator and porting veteran Artificial Mind and Movement, perhaps better known as A2M--a second-circle sin.

Ostensibly based upon Dante Alighieri's 14th century allegorical poem Divine Comedy, Dante's Inferno is a blood-soaked God of War-style action adventure into Hell itself.

Dante's Inferno is scheduled for a simultaneous release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP next year, with the game's animated feature likely to be released alongside.

The Mummy Video Game Due July 22

Publisher Sierra has announced that video game based off the upcoming film The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will hit PlayStation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS on July 22, a few days shy of the movie's August 1 release.

The Nintendo DS version of the third-person action title is being handled by WET creators A2M, while Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown developer Eurocom has been tasked with the PlayStation 2 and Wii editions. The game is also said to feature "hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements."

The title continues the Brendan Fraser-centric franchise's tradition of cross-marketing video games alongside the films. The first movie was accompanied by a video game release on the PlayStation, the sequel had PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Color renditions, and the Scorpion King spin-off appeared on PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance.

A2M Gets Sierra WET

Sierra and developer Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M) today announced WET, a third-person, single-player action title starring a Lara Croftian character named Rubi.

Using a combination of firearms and katanas, Rubi will utilize moves such as the "taint-splitter," a special attack ending with a groin-slicing slash. Displaying flashy back-flips and acrobatic moves, IGN refers to the character as "Prince of Persia, but with the body of a goddess."
