Rallisport Challenge 2

I had extreme high hopes for this game. On one front, you have what would call the next project gotham racing in terms of graphics, only RS2 surpasses PGR2 in that front. One nice surprise. I have read all of the reviews, and I was extremely excited to get the game and play it. As with all games, I rent them to try them, and this is no exception. I rented it last Saturday, and I have it in the car to return already. One reason is, I am done. My son's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was more challenging than this game. Of course, I started on PRO, then did Champion and SuperRally or whatever the name was. There really was no challenge to this game. At least with PGR2, you actually had to hone your driving skills to advance, almost to the point of frustration. I played that game for months and still couldnt beat some of the levels on platinum. With RS2, I just found myself frustrated at the end. 11 mile tracks which were beautifully landscaped, with leaves, trees, rocks, water, etc... but no challenge. I could finish 16th and still finish the super rally challenge. Of course, you have to win your way to the final round, but what a let down to play. While it is nice to have some unlocks, they seemed very unsatisfying. There was not enough cars, and not enough unique tracks. One of my complaints with PGR2. Most tracks are re-hashes of other tracks just pieced in different fashion. In this particular game, no different, only fewer it seemed. I did not play this game online, only because I felt the gameplay on single player would hold my attention, and I could buy the game once I proved to myself how wonderful it was. Well, Needless to say, I will be waiting for another game to play on my x-box, while it sits and collects more dust. Maybe I will go back and play PGR2 like I did for 3 hours a night for 2 months straight.

Final conclusion, Beautiful graphics, love the eye-candy, but I am a PC Gamer first, and the eye-candy on X-Box is only marginal compared to an eye-candy game on PC. Gameplay is what has to hold my attention on X-Box and this game just didnt have it for the long haul. It became very tiresome and boring after the first three nights.
