Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Dec 23, 2002 6:24pm CST
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the newest installment of the Grand Theft Auto series which are known for their strong language, many different abilities that your character can do, and almost unlimited amount of cars for your character to steal.
Graphics in the game look decent and have everything you would find for the next-generation gaming consoles. The game has smooth frame rate and amazing detail on the cars, buildings and their roofs and more. The different characters have poor graphics in the cut scenes and in the game because of their blurred look. Voice acting is amazing which sound like real criminals by their gritty sound. The game uses the Grand Theft Auto 3 engine but enhances the detail. The violence in Grand Theft Auto 3 always gave it a Mature rating and is back in Vice City so this game is not for the younger audience.
Vice City’s game play ranges from going on “Rampages” where you get a gun with unlimited ammo and kill a certain amount of gang members to delivering pizza on a motor scoter. The missions that you need to beat to progress through the story are mainly kill the certain person, steal a car for your boss, or protect your boss from his enemy though seem dull to a person who never played it but actually are very fun to play and never becomes boring. A new feature to the GTA series is motorcycles which are really fun because of their style and ability to do a “Wheelie“. Another new feature is the lock-on system which can be very annoying by sometimes working, not working, or locking-on but disabling your ability to fire your gun. There are a great amount of cars in the all ranging from a sports car to golf cart. The cars all have different handling and rain also affects your handling by making the road slippery. Besides cars there are also planes and helicopters to fly around town and all of the flying vehicles have their own unique ability and handling.
The story begins with Tommy Vercetti a man who just got out of prison after staying there for 15 years and is back at working for the mob bosses. He was ordered to go and exchange money for some drugs for his boss. Everything goes wrong when all the dealers and TommyÂ’s friends get shot by gang members and Tommy is the only one who is left alive. The gang members steal the drugs and the money and now Tommy must regain all the money back by working for Vice cityÂ’s mob bosses.
