Spec Ops, XCOM Slated for Fiscal 2012; 'No Update' on Max Payne 3

In its latest financial report, publisher Take Two has adjusted its release calendar to coincide with recently revealed information but threw in a few surprises for good measure. Though the calendar lists known dates for Duke Nukem Forever and L.A. Noire, the company also listed the PC and Xbox 360 reboot of the XCOM franchise and the Dubai-based Spec Ops: The Line for release in the "Fiscal Year 2012."

Both titles had previously been announced for release in 2011. Take Two's new fiscal year calendar runs from April to March the following year. So XCOM and Spec Ops are now windowed within the period of April 2011 through March 2012, giving both games opportunity to release within the previously expected window; however, there comes a new possibility that neither title will launch this calendar year.

Noticeably absent from the report--which lists titles for both "Fiscal Year 2012" and "Calendar Year 2012"--was the third game in the Max Payne series. Speaking on the subject of Max Payne 3, Take Two CFO Lainie Goldstein said that "There is no update on that title at this time," during the Q&A portion of the company's investor call earlier today, Joystiq reports. Max Payne 3's most recent delay pushed the game into Take Two's 2011 fiscal year, which runs November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011.

Complete overhaul or rethink or redesign is my guess. I didn't care for the original look or concept of max payne 3.

As a fan of the first two games what I saw of 3 did not make me excited either.

I hope they stay with an older Max Paynee.

And they'd better include Mona in the story! <3

But I don't know... It just won't be the same if it isn't done by Remedy.
