Gratuitious Space Battles Single-Player Campaign DLC Pre-order Beta Begins

2
If you wish the indie space fleet combat sim Gratuitous Space Battles had a little more structure, point your peepers at the new $6.99 downloadable expansion Galactic Conquest.

Galactic Conquest adds a single-player campaign that'll have you, well, conquering the galaxy. To do that, you'll need to design a fleet to take on all threats then repair and replenish it between engagements. GSB will fill the 52-planet galaxy with enemy fleets designed by other players, while uploading yours to stymie others. Pre-ordering now will net you instant access to the beta version.

Developer Positech Games has yet to reveal when Galactic Conquest will officially launch, though the beta build will probably do you nicely for now, won't it?

Wow cool...I bought the original and played it for a while in beta but the overall meta game of just fighting it out with other players' fleets didn't keep me playing. It didn't feel like I was accomplishing anything awesome...it didn't seem hard. This extra strategic element might add some difficulty and get me to check this out.

Yeah, this new material seems like just what the game needed to be fun.
