During its media briefing at TGS 2010, Sony continued to shift its focus on 3D gaming; a feature it has been pushing since adding 3D support to all PS3s in June.

The console maker revealed 3D Blu-ray movie support would be added to the system's feature-set when it launches firmware 3.50 on September 21. According to the PlayStation Blog, the feature will be available worldwide simultaneously.

In another bit of news from the wild-world of three-dimensions, Sony revealed that the upcoming "cut and take" action title Metal Gear Solid RisingMetal Gear Solid: Rising will support stereoscopic 3D.

Both announcements come on the heels of announced 3D support for the upcoming Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection, The Last Guardian and word that both Final Fantasy XIV and Hot Shots Golf 5 would support the feature at launch.

Great news. For all six of you with 3D televisions and way too much money in your pocket.
