There comes an awkward time in every parent's life when their child asks "Where do Spartan super-soldiers come from?" Thankfully, Halo: Reach developer Bungie has stepped in with a live-action trailer for its shooter showing the process in painful detail.

Directed by Smart People and 'Got Milk?' commercial director Noam Murro, the trailer shows the transformation of Carter 259, the leader of Halo: Reach's Noble Team, from puny Earth-man to Covenant-slaying Spartan super-soldier.

Halo: Reach enters open beta on May 3 for Halo 3: ODST owners--pick up a few tips here if you need them--and is slated for a fall 2010 release exclusively on Xbox 360.
