Reliance Buys 50% Stake in Codemasters

India-based multimedia company Reliance Big Entertainment has acquired a fifty percent stake in video game publisher and developer Codemasters, MCV reports.

Reliance's gaming division, Zapak Digital Entertainment, has now been paired with Codemasters, which has produced such games as Formula One, DiRT, Overlord, Race Driver: GRID, Operation Flashpoint, and International Cricket 2010.

"The opportunities arising from this partnership are truly exciting," said Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens. "Reliance and Zapak have immense resources and will help us realize the full potential of our game coding and online excellence across so many platforms. The future of Codemasters has never looked brighter."

Added Zapak CEO Rohit Sharma" "We are excited to partner with Codemasters and believe it's very strong technology, development and distribution presence will complement our global gaming portfolio...Zapak's global strength in mobile gaming will enhance Codemasters' ability to fully leverage its attractive franchises."

    Codemasters sucks. Never buying a game after Op Fail Point. Crap games, crap development.

        Well when they release crap then screw the community they loose respect from me. Then they say they are stopping patching the game. How about their other games. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty .. crap...Soldiers: Heroes of World War II.. crap .... Their company is known for making games that are buggy and full of glitches.

      Codemasters did not develop Turning Point or Soldiers, they only published them.
