'Splosion Man and The Maw developer Twisted Pixel has revealed its latest side-scrolling comic action caper, Comic Jumper, in style.

No fast-cut montages and 'bullshots' here, no no, TP offers a selection of screenshots, sound and music samples, concept art and a full ten-minute play-through of the demo it'll be showing at the PAX East festival later this month. Now that's how you do it.

Comic Jumper will see hapless hero Captain Smiley entering different comic books to alter their plots, with the visual style shifting as he jumps. Last year's announcement trailer teased looks including Rob Liefeld's bulging veins and Frank Miller's Sin City.

Twisted Pixel has still yet to announce platforms, a release date or pricing for Comic Jumper but an Xbox Live Arcade release seems inevitable at least.

That fly out of the comic for the scene change was pretty cool!

i concur. i loved 'splosion man but this one just doesn't look that appealing. the humor seems directed to the tween market so the lengthy dialogue screens just bore the hell out of me. the first 2 minute scene was torture for me to get through and the gameplay doesnt seem to offer anything novel like their previous titles

Yea i'm kind of feeling the same... I thought Splosion man's gameplay was so original and fun and this is looking less original and more bland. I'll try to be more open but I don't think the gameplay is going to be as fun as Splosion man.
