Weekly PC Sales: Star Trek Online, Sales Stars and the Unstoppable Modern Warfare 2

31
Steam's sales chart for the post-Christmas week is naturally dominated by many of its holiday deals, though the unstoppable Modern Warfare 2 sticks it out at full price to claim the number two spot by quality of sale rather than quantity in the revenue race.

Pre-orders reign supreme at Direct2Drive, with advance orders for the 'Digital Deluxe Edition' of Star Trek Online seeing it crowned sales monarch while the regular edition seperately finishes ninth, and pre-orders for Mass Effect 2's DDE place it at number eight.

I pre-ordered the shit out of Star Trek Online. Hate all you want. Beta's been fun, and I've been waiting for a game called "Star Trek Online" since I was 14.

How exactly does one "pre-order the sh*t" out of a game? Is there a metric that measures how fiercely your order something?

Just bought it on Steam, which I suppose would be too much money to begin with for some, so I respect that.

I pre-ordered with a fiery vengeance! Sorry, was just being a tad tongue-in-cheek about it. I'm excited, but prepared to be disappointed, like with most major MMO launches. Star Trek is dear to me, so the tears will flow much more profoundly in my case. Yes, I will cry fanboy tears.

When I was 14, there was no "online".

I'm 29 years old, there was barely online for me too. I'm just saying I would have killed for such a game then, and I haven't changed much.
