The warmup for Guy Fawkes Night tomorrow is well underway here in England, with fireworks being set off all through the day and night. Truly it is a magical time of the year.

Of course, these days we are not entirely sure what it's all about. We know Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament with King James I inside, we're comfortable with that, but we're a little hazy on whether the fireworks, toffee apples and jacket potatoes are celebrating the triumph of the Protestant monarchy or cheering ole Guido on for attempting to smash the state.

We do have some splendid bangs and sparkles, though.
