Xbox 360 Update Adds WPA2 Support For WiFi Adapter

6
A new Xbox 360 system update is rolling out this morning, bringing support for the WPA2 security protocol to the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter. Owners will be prompted to download the mandatory update when they next sign into Xbox Live.

Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb stresses that the update does not include the upcoming Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm integration nor the Zune Marketplace 1080p "instant-on" streaming video, which are all scheduled to arrive "later next month."

A new version of the Wireless Adapter with support for 802.11n in the works.

Oh my god, it's about time! I think this means I can finally switch over to WPA2 with my router. Only my DS does't support it now and I never use that for WiFi anyway.

To be fair, the DS didn't support WPA either. Does the DSi support WPA?

Wikipedia article on the DSi says it supports WPA2.

And that is why I quantified it by saying "Wikipedia says" rather then just say "yes it can".

I'm pretty sure I've read it in proper reviews on the DSi as well, but I can't remember where.

I hope you meant "an F". Back when I was in school, using an encyclopedia as a primary source was unacceptable, but you were encouraged to use an encyclopedia as an avenue to better, more detailed source material.

It's pretty much the same for Wikipedia, plus the risk of false, biased, or incomplete details due to the open editing model.

You might want to look up sarcasm in your encyclopedia.

Sounds like it does on paper, but the games itself won't work with WPA2 unless they were specifically made to support it. lol. XD
