'The Darkness' Sequel Announced, Original Dev Starbreeze Not Involved

13
A sequel to The Darkness, the favorably-received 2007 action title based on the comic of the same name, is in the works according to publisher Top Cow.

However, judging by comments made by Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson, the studio that crafted the first game will not be involved in the new project. "I heard that there were talks about a Darkness sequel, but Starbreeze is not involved in anything like that right now," said Kristiansson to VG247. "We are busy on two projects together with EA."

No other details on the sequel are known at this time.

I really should give this another chance at some point, as some people have said it gets fun once you get further into it. The shooting was so-so, as I recall.

Yeah the shooting isn't the best in the world, but the story and atmosphere are top notch. One of the few games to genuinely affect me emotionally.

Bean, you are absolutely right, the gameplay is better-than-average, but the atmosphere, story, voice acting, and music were absolutely stunning. Its definately worth it to keep playing if you like those quilities in games.
