The first trailer for Griptonite Studio's Assassins' Creed: Bloodlines (PSP) was released by publisher Ubisoft today.

The Christmas-bound title picks up right after the events of the first game, serving as a connection to the upcoming sequel. Bloodlines promises a level of gameplay similar to that of the original game, but it also expands on the concept with eight new mission types.

Making an exclusive game that bridges 2 multiplatform games its just stupid.

I would have done a game of a side story, not a bridging one.

      Can I get an amen?

This kind of turd on a stick is one of the problems with the game industry, and people's acceptance of this practice makes it even worse. On Joystiq half of the comments are like "Buy the platform then" or "Read it on Wikipedia or watch it on Youtube". WTF?

Can you imagine if Halo 2 ended, you bought Halo 3 and Halo 3 actually took place after they wrapped up the Halo 2 storyline in a game that was only available for the DS or something equally stupid handheld console: "Halo 2: Redemption"!? Get out of here!

Agree 100%, however I don't really believe this will be as much of a "bridging" storyline as a side story. Sure it might tell you more about Altair... but unless it goes into details on his descendants then its not much of a bridge.

Happens a lot these days, also games between movie installments.

TBH I doubt they would put any really important plot elements into these games without explaining them in the main games/movies as well.
