Games for Windows Live but No Cross-Platform Play for Street Fighter 4 PC

Update: PC Street Fighter 4 players will not be able to play against Xbox 360 fighters, Capcom's Christian Svensson has stated in a forum post. Thanks pyide.

Original: Capcom has revealed more of the upcoming PC version of Street Fighter IV, including that it will feature Games for Windows Live and expanded graphics options.

Games for Windows Live will bring online play, in-game messaging and friends lists, voice chat and achievements to the modern update of the classic beat 'em up.

PC gamers also benefit from higher resolutions and several artistic visual effects including sumi-e ink and watercolour shaders, which can be seen in this gallery.

Street Fighter 4 is scheduled for release on PC this summer.

Hopefully GFWL will start getting more titles and they'll fix the crappyness of the service.

There's like, 12 games on that thing? Get to it MS! You said you want to compete with Steam and D2D

First, I suggest they redesign the entire UI of the service, then start adding games to it.

        Seriously.

There's no way to actually login to it and interact with anything (except the marketplace, unsurprisingly), unless you load a game.

And no push-to-talk. I almost never use voice chat over GFWL anyway because the volume is too quiet and won't turn up any louder.

Despite its overall stability I am tempted to call it a beta.

Please no! This is worst idea ever. GfWL sucks for so many reasons its not even worth repeating here. They are better off leaving multiplayer and online interaction with people who know PCs such as Steam. GfWL is trying to make the PC into a console and restrict users from interacting with the PC games in any fun and meaningful way.

I'd rather it die and go away.
