Lifetime UK Hardware Sales Revealed
A chart included in European game retailer Game's latest financial papers has revealed the lifetime hardware sales data for the UK games market.
The numbers largely reflect worldwide and European trends, with the Wii in the lead at 4.9 million units sold. The Xbox 360 has been sold to 3.2 million UK gamers, while PS3 sales have totaled 1.9 million.
In the handheld market, the Nintendo DS has pushed 8.8 million units in the UK, while the PSP follows far behind at 3.2 million.
As Edge points out, the data does present one notable difference in trends: the PS3 is currently beating the Xbox 360 in European territories outside of the UK, with 2.6 million sold to the Xbox 360's 2.3 million.
