PlayStation 3, Wii-friendly YouTube Site Launches

9
A new YouTube site designed to work well within the PlayStation 3 and Wii web browsers launched today at www.youtube.com/tv.

The site, inaccessible outside of a console browser, will offer enlarged text, simplified navigation, and a full-screen viewing option.

A demonstration video of the site can be seen below.

My G1 can view YouTube and just NOW PS3 and Wii got this functionality? If they want to give system updates that raise the bar it shouldn't take 2 years for the PS3 and Wii to get this basic function and a full working version of Home. I've played with it, yes it's cool, but they have NOTHING for furniture for your apartment or TVs for the ability to invite friends over to watch movies or your porn collection saved oh-so-conveniently to your PS3's relatively large HD.

For as fast as technology seems to go forward it seems to as quickly stall out.

I read the article wrong... still, it's sad that the PS3 and Wii browsers are so inefficient.

It's not that they're inefficient, they have to factor in people with SD and HDTVs, plus there's no mouse and keyboard to perform basic tasks.

This is Google adding this to YouTube. Sony had nothing to do with it.

@f1kt1tous are you retarded or do you just know nothing at all about the PS3 or Wii?

PS3's web browser has flash 9 support built in. It has ALWAYS been able to view any website, including those with flash (Youtube, Hulu works, Youporn, whatever). This article is about how now you can browse to www.youtube.com/tv and there is a specially formated site (with larger text and a cleaner interface) for PS3 and Wii.

On a side note, your commentary of Home is just as unfounded. There is a ton of furniture and clothing at the mall that you can get to add to your apartment if you actually cared or wanted to. You can also buy a TV, so again, you have no idea what your talking about.

Oh, and PS3 has Socom and will have Killzone 2. So good game.
