Watchmen Game Debut Trailer: The End Is Nigh

Continuing today's Spike-spurred media barrage is the following trailer for Watchmen: The End is Nigh (PS3, 360, PC).

Developed by Deadline Games, The End is Nigh is a downloadable beat-em-up title featuring characters Rorschach and Nite Owl, scheduled to debut alongside the upcoming Watchmen film adaptation in March. The game is set during the 1970s, in the era of the original graphic novel's "Crimebusters" team.

Let's hope the movie aspires to be something more than a "mature action-brawler" with "bloody, visceral combat in rich settings."

So you find the most cliche superhero aspect of the graphic novel that was not at all discussed because it has no emotional substance, make a game based on that, and likely a very simplistic and derivative one at that, advertise it and pimp it with the movie and all that, and then make a lot of money?

It's sad because I'd still play it.

It's sad, even though Veidt's a dick and corporate sell out, even he wouldn't make toys based on Rorshach and Nite Owl... Even worse people exist in real life :(
