Fable 2 Knothole Island DLC Dated

10
The first bit of downloadable content for Lionhead's open-world action-RPG Fable II (360) will arrive on December 22, the developer has confirmed with Eurogamer.

Dubbed Knothole Island, the $10 add-on brings an entirely new landmass to the game, where players will have to "undergo the trials of the three shrines to bring the dying island back to life." New items, weapons and characters will also be added.

Publisher Microsoft originally specified a December 12th release for the DLC, but soon clarified that the date was incorrect, though the content would arrive in "mid-December."

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

considering how short and how easy Fable 2 was, I doubt this will take more than 2 hours to beat

fable 2 was such a bad bad game...

Actually, I think it could easily have been a better game, if they had forced you to complete more of the "optional" quests along the way instead of forging ahead on the main quest. I felt like I missed a lot, and I did take some time to dawdle here and there.

For example, I only opened one demon door, despite trying each one I came across... I just never went back specifically to open doors up.

The gargoyles frustrated me, and not just because they kept saying "Ya cannae hit me! Ya cannae hit me! Kiss mah stoney ass!" Rather because I could hear them chattering but spent a rather infuriating ten minutes looking around for it... the sound just wasn't very directional at all. I gave up on them.

Fable 2 was bad? Say it's not so! Peter Molyneux is a genius of geniuses and all of his games are pure art that are only bad if you're too much of a cretin to be able to appreciate their mastery!

Bad bad game? Wow... I'm kind of stunned. You really think it was that bad? I'm loving Fable II... I think it's in my top 5 for this year.

There is absolutely no challenge or difficulty, at all. Even you if actively try not to upgrade any of your skills or spells, it's still very hard to die

and when you die (i stopped using potions entirely), all that happens is that you lose the xp on the ground (you can just gather all the xp right before dying), get a scar somewhere you can't see and spring right back up

Also the main campaign was really short and the optional quests/minigames werent fun at all. collecting houses or even making money is pointless because it doesnt change anything/

the demon doors were kind of cool and i liked the spire part when you were a guard

also all my dog did, even though i was an evil character, was run around and find treasure even during combat

I don't think any of that makes it a bad game, it just makes it not your style. what exactly were you looking for in Fable 2? because it sounds like you wanted a challenging shooter or something from your complaints, and it's not really supposed to be that type of game. the things you dislike are the very things some people love about it.

Exactly.. being 'bad' and being a game you don't like... are two different things.

I've never played it, but I've talked to a number of people who have played it and enjoyed it a lot, and while I wouldn't consider it to be the type of game I'd play that's an entirely different world than saying it's a bad game

yea fables 2 is ridiculously overrated. It's basically an rpg for little kids, and its so short it should only quality as a rental.

Little kids? As it dealt with a lot of 'grown up stuff' I'd hardly label it a game suitable for young kids.

I think my savegame had about thirty hours on it.

Couldn't disagree more. Loved Fable 2, beat it twice, sunk a lot of time into it. Got my moneys worth for sure.
