Morning Discussion

Alright Tuesday, let's dance. A magic dance, perchance?

While everyone else played a ton of games over the holiday weekend, I used the time to catch up on other forms of media. Finally finished reading Neal Stephenson's Anathem, and thanks to the magic of Netflix, finished up the first season of Friday Night Lights.

That's not to say I completely ignored my massive backlog of video games. I sunk a few more hours into Tomb Raider Underworld, and while its twitchy controls and even twitchier camera continue to annoy the living out of me, I'm still enjoying it.

When the game works, such as a nifty platforming segment or a clever puzzle, it's fun. But when it doesn't, like when you miss a jump and die because you thought you were facing straight forward but you were off by a few degrees so you have to do that entire segment all over again just to die again, well, that's not as fun. Not even close.

But I'm still go back to it night after night, so Underworld must be doing something right. Or maybe I'm broken ...or maybe it's a little of both?
