Left 4 Dead Demo Date Tipped by GameStop Promotion, Early Access for Pre-orders

11
The demo of Valve's Left 4 Dead (PC, 360) has been promised for early November, and it will be even earlier for those who pre-order the game through mega-retailer GameStop.

The GameStop product page for the flee-from-zombie-apocalypse shooter promises "early access to the demo" from November 6 to 11 for those who reserve a copy of the game. For those who have already reserved the game, they can use this page and their receipts to get their access keys.

As "early access" through GameStop ends on November 11 and the full game releases on November 18, Internet Speculation has led to the inevitable conclusion that the demo will be available to the general public on or around November 12.

Shacknews has contacted Valve for more information.

No way that Gamestop will scoop STEAM on a Valve project.

Unless its part of a closed-door agreement in exchange for marketing, maybe.

Distribution is cheap compared to marketing.

I bet the demo is being distributed via Steam and will be automatically available to those who buy it through there. There was a similar promotion for TF2 with the beta and in-store codes. Still, waiting on official word.
