Microsoft Talks Xbox 360 Blu-ray Rumors

Rumors of a Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360 are once again swirling, and Microsoft has once again denied that it has any plans to release such a device.

"As we've said before, Microsoft has no plans to introduce an Xbox 360 Blu-ray add-on," Microsoft told Edge. "Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available."

At the least, this is the fifth time Microsoft has denied the persistent rumors that the Xbox 360 will receive an upgrade to enable Blu-ray movie playback. Instead, the company is focused on the online distribution of movies and television shows via Xbox Live, which will gain support for Netflix's streaming video on November 19.

They can't. The same morons who keep starting these rumors would take "no comment" as a sign that they are totally 100% true, otherwise they'd comment on it. You can't win against the kind of people who make up video game rumors. The only people stupider are the Mac rumor people.

AgentPothead is right, they would just see it as a sign that what they want is going to happen. Everyone knows that if you scream loud enough to get a companies attention, they just might do something about it. However these people are forgetting it's Microsoft in this equation, and they rarely incorporate something unless it's so popular people are willing to hack their shit to put it on there
