Silent Hill: Homecoming Censored in Australia

Double Helix's Silent Hill: Homecoming (PC, 360, PS3) has been refused classification by Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification, meaning that the game will not be available for sale unless the game is changed from its current form.

The game has been effectively banned "presumably for excessive violence" according to The Age of Melbourne, Australia.

The Silent Hill sequel is the fourth game this year to be banned from classification, with Bethesda's Fallout 3 being the highest-profile case surrounding its drug content in the game.

Homecoming has not permanently been banned from sale in Australia. It is expected that the game will be tweaked to suit the needs of the OFLC and be released in a censored form. The North American release is still on track for this month, with Europe following in November.
