Atlus announced today that Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 (NDS) will hit retail shelves on July 1. The company also released a set of new screenshots and a trailer for the upcoming title.

A direct sequel to the notoriously difficult 2005 surgical sim, Under the Knife 2 marks the return of Dr. Derek Stiles dealing with the aftereffects of GUILT, the plague battled in the first title. The game features a variety of enhancements, new operations and several new difficulty modes.

I am surprised it took them this long to come out with the sequel.

Really? One game a year seems pretty good to me.

The original Trauma Center: Under the Knife for DS came out October 4, 2005

The remake with bonus content on the Wii, Traume Center: Second Opinion came out November 19, 2006

The sequel to TC: SO came out on the Wii on November 20, 2007

TC2 for the ds will be coming out July 1, 2008

i think he means DS games probably sell more than wii games- should have made part 2 a while back.

Well yeah. Part one launched with the DS, I figured they would have had two teams working on the franchise, one for the wii and one for the DS.
