Activision: Standalone GH3 Guitar Info Not Correct

Jan 31, 2008 3:53pm CST tags: Activision, Guitar Hero 3

Update: Activision had contacted Shacknews, clarifying that the below details, as reported by Primotech, are not accurate.

"The information they put out is not correct," explained the rep. "Normally if something leaks and the information is accurate, that's one thing, but in this case it's not."

Specific corrections and proper details were not available as of this writing.

Original Story: RedOctane and Activision have revealed shots and details of the standalone wireless Les Paul guitars for Neversoft's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PC, PS2, PS3, X360, Wii), Primotech is reporting.

Gamers looking to add a second rocker to their lonely solo projects can expect the standalone Les Paul controllers in March. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 peripherals will retail for $69, while the Wii guitar will run $59.

Last week, Harmonix announced its plans to release Rock Band (X360, PS3) peripherals for individual sale. Guitar Hero controllers are currently compatible with the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band, but Activision has expressed some hesitance in allowing similar compatibility for Rock Band peripherals with Guitar Hero III.
