The NPD sales figures for December 2007 and the year of 2007 were released this week, and as promised last month, here are the latest pictorial representations, thanks to Shack regular Stephen "chazums" Pendergrass Charman. There is a bit more graphing going on this month, in celebration of the year's end.

"Food for thought," Charman points out. "In December the DS sold almost as much as the PS3 has in the whole year."

The DS really is a ridiculous powerhouse--I continue to maintain that though it doesn't get as much press, it is a considerably more impressive platform in terms of robustness and versatility than the Wii. Look at the Jul. 06-Dec. 07 graph--not only did the DS take December for another year in a row, it dominated it by a considerably higher margin this year than last, an impressive achievement for a system that just went through its fourth holiday season.
