Rockstar Clarifies Grand Theft Auto 4 DLC Plans, United Kingdom Release Date Rumored

The Xbox 360 will not be receiving more than the two formerly announced exclusive pieces of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV, developer Rockstar has clarified to Next Generation.

In a conference call yesterday, publisher Take-Two revealed that it has plans to release new GTA4 DLC on Xbox 360 during its 2009 fiscal year. The two known content packs were previously expected to be released exclusively on the Xbox 360 within the company's 2008 fiscal year, so this declaration lead many to believe that additional content was on the way.

According to Rockstar, the publisher was actually referring to a delay of the second content pack, which is now slated to arrive on the Xbox 360 after November 2008, the beginning of Take-Two's next fiscal year.

In related GTA4 news, MCV is claiming that sources close to Take-Two tell them that the game will be released in the UK on April 25, though Rockstar has refused to comment on the matter.

During yesterday's conference call, Take-Two was adamant that the game would arrive between the beginning of February and the end of April, though a specific release date was not provided. After repeated pestering from analysts and investors, a company representative responded, "We'll announce the date when we're ready to announce the date."

I wonder how many people are going to read FY09 and go 'omg no content until 2009 delay delay!'

Hah. Always makes me a bit sad when I hear people do that.
