Geometry Wars Steamed to XP on the Cheap

Independent studio Bizarre Creations' crack team of developers has unlocked the key to bringing Windows XP support to its hit arcade shooter Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. Previously, the game's PC incarnation was only available for Windows Vista.

Bizarre and Valve this week announced that the game has been added to Steam with a price tag of $3.95, the same as the game's Vista version. It has been discounted to $2.50 until June 22. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved on Xbox 360 is sold through the Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

Valve has released several screenshots of the Windows XP game.

This week's news follows the recent announcement of Kuju Entertainment's Geometry Wars: Galaxies for Wii and Nintendo DS.

So, I see this on Steam. I'm running Vista: am I missing out on anything if I buy the Steam version for XP?

Well the original "vista" version ran fine on xp so it's probably just the same one.
