Wow, first time I've seen someone say that in a long time.

People really think there will never be a 360 version? I'd go as far as to guarantee a 360 version.

I think they'll probably be a stripped down version of the game like FarCry: Instincts for the 360.

yah with only 512MB ram total for system & video ram.. they will have to strip things down.

Crytek has stated emphatically numerous times that Crysis simply would not be possible on the Xbox 360. It might get a game that is to Crysis what Far Cry Instincts on Xbox was to Far Cry, but it would be a different game. Instincts was substantially different from Far Cry, and I imagine whatever shows up on consoles will be substantially different from Crysis.

Ok so 360 Version will be the DX9 Version, only ported. cool!

Well of course a DX9 code path would be able to be run on consoles, just extremely poorly. But that doesn't mean that a port will happen.

None of the consoles have any game that even comes close to matching the complexity of what Crytek has shown.

                    WTF?
Do you mean Crysis, CryENGINE 2 or Crysis now?

This is taken from Crytek's webpage, where they are talking about CryENGINE 2 (the one used in Crysis):
Next Generation Real-Time Renderer: Our renderer provides seamless support for both indoor and outdoor environments on DirectX9 and 10, as well as support for next generation consoles such as the Xbox360 and PS3

Your statment is in full conflict with the information Crytek gives for their own engine...
But you are probably right. Most trustworthy person is always the random guy on the INTHARNETH!

      1) 360 version?
      2) the 360 has like a DX 9.5, with some of the main features of DX10 available.

ports are always inferior... even console games coming to pc almost always end up worse in some ways.

        amen to that

i HATE console ports.. or even "multi-platform" where PC is just another platform. They're always ugly (giant fonts made for TV, nasty low-res textures), and/or laggy.

I cite Knights of the Old Republic (item description... scroll scroll scroll), Halo, Lost Planet, Oblivion (don't alt-tab!)

Console ports to PC are the worst. They run very poorly performance wise even when arguably prettier engines (modified doom3 or source) run like butter.

What will really be funny is when they release the 360 version they miraculously find a way to put back rain and particle effects in DX9. If Crytek tries to put up artificial limitations to the DX9 version of the game I won't pirate the game but I will wait until it hits $20.

The 360 wouldn't be able to run this game, consoles arnt the best thing in the world, computers are faster so the games are better and have more detail. Why does everyone think consoles are better then computers? They are a computer and can't be upgraded without having to rewire or add something that could risk in ruining it.

Since it makes alot of financial sense to do it on the 360 I know they will do this but don't expect it to be anything like either pc version.

It will have limitations comparatively. There's alot more to this than just being able to use dx9/10.
