On Napster Banning
If you're a student at a college where administrators blocked Napster, maybe
this guide I found will help you get past the blocking through a proxyserver. There's a section on starting a proxy server in Linux and they have links to Windows proxy servers too.

My college also blocked Napster, but we found an easy way around their ban because they only banned it through their name server. By simply adding:
208.184.216.238 www.napster.com
208.184.216.223 server.napster.com
to the "hosts.sam" file in my windows directory, then by renaming it to just "hosts". Napster works thank to this, and with IE i can get to the website, but for some reason Netscape doesn't work, and I just wanted Napster to work so I haven't bothered trying to make it work.
