As was reported recently,
Intel has
filed a lawsuit against Via trying to keep them from marketing their motherboard
chipset in the USA. Well it looks like the AMD folks are
jumping in to the rescue of Via.
Seeing as that the Via chipset is intended to work with AMD's technology it's beneficial
that AMD helps them. Why should this matter to you? Well AMD + Via chipset = mucho fasto
computero. Also there is mention that AMD will be pushing out their dual-cpu system around
the 3rd quarter of this year.
AMD has stepped into the dispute and has made its own
representations to the ITC, because its future roadmap will, in part, depend upon Via and
other chipsets. As well as further extensive chipset support from Via, we understand that
AMD will produce a dual Athlon during the course of this year...
